At a time when it is safe, and the leak has temporarily stopped, you will need to remove the water. Start by drying up water that has soaked onto your floor, carpet, and furniture. If the floor and rug got wet, you may need to pull the carpet away from the padding. Expose the backing to air and allow it to dry. This will also give the padding underneath a chance to dry and eliminate any chance of mold. Circulate as much fresh air as possible around the affected areas.
